About Ardell (we’re obsessed)

Ardell has been serving lash looks for over more than 50 years (talk about iconic)! The brand was created in 1971 by husband and wife duo Arnold and Sydell Miller (see what they did there?) who met when Sydell booked an appointment to have her hair styled by Arnold - he’d proposed by the end of the week! Ardell was founded in that very same salon - where Sydell researched and created a way to weave lashes from natural hair. In an interview about their Matrix haircare brand, Sydell recalls the early lashes losing them money on every pair - but that their customers loved them so much, she knew they were on to a winner. Ardell was acquired by beauty giants American International Industries in the early 80s.

Their whole mission? To  'Give women a way to make their eyes beautiful and unforgettable'. Who doesn’t want that!? They’re all about making high-quality, cruelty-free lashes that bring allll the glamour without breaking the bank. And it’s not just lashes! Ardell Nails are also a thing (yes, mani goals incoming). Applying your Ardell Wispy Eyelashes Like a Pro!

Because the Ardell Wispies are so popular, we thought we’d give you a step-by-step guide, so that you can apply yours quickly and properly. We’re just nice like that! 

💡Top Tip 1: clean, dry lashes = better application.

Use a small cotton pad damp with cleanser (micellar water is also a great option), then gently wipe the cotton pad across your eyes and lashes to remove any excess makeup, and pat dry with a clean towel or flannel.

💡Top Tip 2: add a little mascara

If you apply a fine coat of mascara to your natural lashes, you will allow your falsies to stick better to your natural lashes, creating a more natural, seamless, and elegant blend.

1. Choose your palette

Before applying your Ardell Wispies, you might want to soften your eyes or define them with a complimentary shadow and eyeliner. Due to false eyelashes’ delicate nature, applying them is often the very last step in a make-over.

2. Measure and Trim Your Ardell Lashes

If you’ve ever applied false eyelashes before, then you’ll know that you need to cut them to size. It is essential to get this step right - as this is often where people tend to make mistakes. Cut too little, and you’ll have a lot of excess lashes. Cut too much, and the lash won’t fully frame your eyes.

3. Apply Your Adhesive 

To apply the lash glue correctly, hold the semi-circular lash between your fingers, gently (facing upwards). You can then take the glue and neatly apply one line in a semi-circular motion.

4. Centre Your Lash

With confidence (steady as possible!), place your eyelash (using the included applicator tweezers) on the centre of your eyelid and press down. You’ll want to stick your lashes on as closely as possible to your eye-line and natural lashes for the best effect. Once pressed in place, you can use your applicator to pull and shape the eyelash to sit in the desired position.

5. Finishing touches

Now that you’ve successfully applied your Ardell Lashes, take a spoolie to clean through your lashes, fluff them up - or adjust them in any way to suit your preference, and that’s about it!
